GC ENTERS 'REBUILDING' MODE
Global Communicators
CEO Jim Harff has added Michiko Morales as senior VP-media relations
and new business development. She is a veteran of Stanton Communications
and The Martin Agency/SLAY PR.
Harff says GC is in a "rebuilding" mode and expects to add a
few more bodies during the next three months. Those recruits
will help offset the retirement of Kathy Christie, one of the
founders of GC a decade ago.
Harff likes the bicultural background of Japan native Morales,
who will play a key role as GC mulls opportunities to the Asia
Pacific region. He just back from Oslo where GC client Professor
Muhammad Yunus accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on Dec. 10.
Yunus was honored for establishing the Grameen Bank of Bangladesh,
which extends mini loans to entrepreneurs in the developing
world.
Harff told O'Dwyer's there were more than 200 media outlets
at the ceremony. "It was a PR person's dream come true," he
told O'Dwyer's.
