Former Colonial Williamsburg Marketing Director Joins Global Communicators as Senior International Adviser

WASHINGTON, DC (June 6, 2009) – Edward Allmann, former director of marketing for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (CWF), Williamsburg, VA, has joined Global Communicators, LLC, as a senior international adviser in charge of new business development and client marketing services.

Allmann, who worked for Colonial Williamsburg for the last eight years, had also been director of the Foundation’s hospitality advertising and public relations before becoming marketing director in 2002. He developed CWF’s alliance marketing relationships with AirTran, Macy’s and HBO; drove growth in several categories of ecommerce and on-site sales; and provided creative direction for numerous CWF marketing projects.

From 1990 to 2000, Allmann held a succession of high-level advertising and public relations positions with Kohler Co., Kohler, WI, global leader in plumbing products and power systems. He managed corporate media relations, and also resort and real estate advertising and public relations for the hospitality group. During this period, he was principally involved in the launch of Whistling Straits golf course, and worked with the USGA on the record-setting 1998 U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Blackwolf Run.

Allmann was deputy director of the consumer products group at Hill & Knowlton, New York, NY, for two years, before which he coordinated various aspects of marketing and operations for Regine’s, the Paris-based exclusive nightclub and restaurant empire which at the time had 17 clubs around the world. He began his career as director of public affairs and chief announcer at classical/jazz format WFMR-FM, Milwaukee, WI.

An honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he received a bachelor of fine arts degree, Allmann also studied creative writing at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
